What is the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act is European Union regulation (in force 2024, phased through 2027) that classifies AI systems into risk tiers — unacceptable (banned), high-risk (conformity assessment), limited-risk (transparency), and minimal. It applies extraterritorially to anyone placing AI on the EU market, with fines up to 7% of global revenue.
